Starting An Online Store
It's easy to get started!
Here's a brief overview of opening your own online store.
1. Choose a product:
Whether it's your own hand made item or you have chosen a reliable dropshipper, you'll need to find your niche products to showcase in your Superb Online Store!
2. Buy a Domain name & Hosting:
Your domain name is your address on the web (www.yoursite.com), You can google "domain name registration", or we like to use godaddy.com...or check with your hosting company, many will do it for you.
Remember when choosing a domain name that it should be easy to spell, easy to remember and describe your business or your business name.
As for hosting, your store will need web hosting that will accomodate an e-commerce store. We work with a couple of great hosting companies that offer a very easy to use shopping cart system, check them out here.
3. Website Design Template:
Now that you have products in mind, a domain name and hosting. Let's give your store a great look. CJI Web Studio offers affordable pre-made and custom templates, pick one out from our catalog or contact us for a quote, we'll install it for you.
Your website makes an impact on every person that sees it. It is what brands your company, make sure you make a great first impression!
4. Add your products
Adding your products is super easy with the shopping cart system that our approved hosts offer. Most have a demo site that you can see for yourself before purchasing.
5. Advertise! Advertise Advetise!
This is where the fun starts, tell everyone you know about your new business. Shout it to the world, let them know what your shop sells and how you can be of service to them. Always carry a business card with you and leave it in appropriate places such as community boards in the library or grocery store. Join forums and add your banner to your signature. Write and submit press releases, submit adds in your local newspaper, sponsor sports team, put your name in vinyl magnets on your vehicles. Every opportunity you have promote your new store!
This is just a basic outline to help you get started.
We hope you find it useful and wish you much success in your new endeavor.
